Although I personally have always been interested in and since I started to read the Bible completely from a literal perspective have a belief in a literal Millenial Kingdom, it wasn't clear to me or I didn't think about it very much before exactly where Jesus the Messiah would dwell in the Messianic Age. This was further confused when I saw some interpretations that I still believe from Ezekiel that the place of the Messianic Age Temple or Sanctuary will be separate from "the city". In this view "the city" will be south of the Sanctuary also in the place for the Prince. From Ezekiel 37:25 where the prince is identified as David as well as the prince being described as having children and offering sacrifices for his sins he couldn't be the sinless Messiah Jesus. Very recently a Christian friend when I was discussing Bible prophecy with the person asked where Jesus the Messiah would dwell in the Messianic Kingdom. I at that time had to confess I didn't know but this also motivated me to search the Bible to find the answer which by God's grace I have in many scriptures. For whatever reason I have yet to see any artwork in books or Christian literature in sketches, paintings or computer graphics of scenes of Messiah Jesus and/or God the Father's glory in the Temple in the Messianic Age but hopefully I will find this soon as I believe it would be very inspiring. Following is a Bible study showing that both Jesus the Messiah and Son of God and the glory of God the Father will dwell in the Temple and rule Jerusalem, Israel and the world in the Messianic Age from the Temple.
In the Day of the LORD God and His Messiah Jesus, God will defeat all the unsaved people of the nations that come against Him and Jerusalem and His chosen earthly people the Jews and divide the spoil such as the clothing and jewelry to believers living in the Messianic Kingdom. God will then gather all nations against Jerusalem and allow the ungodly people to loot the houses in Jerusalem (rifle them) and ravish (rape) the women. This will result in God's further anger against these ungodly armies. The nations referred to here will also be from each of the 70 nations (goy or goyim) mentioned in The Table of Nations in Genesis 10 Descended from Noah and his three sons and their wives. Then the LORD will go forth and fight against them from Revelation 19 with Jesus the Messiah and Son of God fighting against them with His word and the sword that comes from His mouth although God the Father might fight in a similiar way. This scripture passage says then the LORD, God the Father, will land on the Mount of Olives and cause it to be split with part moving towards the north and the other part towards the south that will create a great valley in between. This valley is said to extend to Azal which means "noble" and is probably named after a man named Azel in 1 Chronicles 8:33-40 related to King Saul who was of the Benjamite tribe and territory which was adjacent to Jerusalem and extended to the Jordan River. The inhabitants are urged to flee as in an earlier earthquake. All the saints or believers will come with the LORD then from Heaven as well as His Son Messiah Jesus and the holy angels. The scripture reference from Zechariah 14 of the LORD (God the Father) coming from Heaven to fight in the Battle of Armageddon and to land of the Mount of Olives causing a great valley there is as follows:
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. Zechariah 14:1-5
As with the letters to the other 6 churches of Revelation, there is a promise to the overcomer in this letter to the church of Philadelphia. The overcomer is best defined in the scripture in 1 John 5:4-5 as the person that puts their faith from the heart in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and is born again or born of God's Holy Spirit and lives by faith in Jesus. The promise to the overcomer in verse 12 is that they would not go out from the temple which means the Millennial Temple as there is no temple in the eternal age according to Revelation 21:22 but there certainly will be a physical temple of God in the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple. However this verse also says that this overcomer would have access to the city of God or the New Jerusalem so it might be better said that the Church age overcomer will have access to different places of the godly places in the Millennium and eternity such as the Millennium Temple and New Jerusalem but probably also the New Earth and New Heavens and perhaps some of the Millennial EArth and heavens but still having the priviledge or special access to the Millennial Temple. Jesus also promised to the Church Age overcomers that he would write upon the overcomer the name of God, the name of the city of God New Jerusalem and Jesus' new name. These all serve to identify the overcomer for the Millennial Kingdom and eternity with God and Jesus and His holy city the New Jerusalem. The scripture reference from REvelation 3 of the Church Age overcomer to have access to the Millennial Kingdom Temple among other blessings is as follows:
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. Revelation 3:12
In the last chapters of Ezekiel the portion of the tribes of Israel in the land of Israel for the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom are given. The portion for the Levites is close to Jerusalem and the Millennial Temple as shown in the above illustration. What I just learned is significant about this is that it is quite different than what was given to the priests and Levites in the period of Israel under the Mosaic Law in Old Testament times as described in Numbers 35 and in Joshua 21 where the specific cities given to the Levites and what tribes they were among were itemized. The point I should make is that in the Millennial Kingdom or Messianic Age the Levites seem to be revealed that they will all live in one place close to the temple whereas in the Old Testament times they were spread out among all the tribes of Israel. In Old Testament times 6 of the cities of the Levites were cities of refuge where the manslayer who killed someone without prior intent could flee to until the death of the high priest and be safe or have refuge. However I could not find any mention of cities of refuge for the Millennial Kingdom or Messianic Age. Even though there will be abundant righteous rule by Messiah Jesus and the saints of all ages and the Holy Spirit there will still be the fleshly or old nature of the mortal people there to deal with although the devil and demons won't be influencing things on earth then. Anyway there will still be some sin or attempts at sin or violence or some accidents but if the Levites are all in one place and the refuge for the manslayer is in their territory it would be much harder to reach than when the cities of refuge were spread out throughout the territory of Israel. I also can't find any reference in the Bible that the former cities of refuge will still apply in the same places in the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom or that they will be in any other locations. I would welcome any serious insights on this issue from the reader to give me better understanding on the above question. Although this paragraph isn't directly about the temple it is about religious matters regarding the Levites so I have included it in this web page. The scripture reference from Ezekiel 45 and 48 about the portion of the Levites and priests near the temple and Jerusalem in the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom instead of spread out throughout the land of Israel in Old Testament times is as follows:
And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of breadth, shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.
And for them, even for the priests, shall be this holy oblation; toward the north five nad twenty thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenth thousand in length: and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the midst thereof. It shall be for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray. And this oblation of the land that is offered shall be unto them a thing most holy by the border of the Levites. And over against the border of the priests the Levites shall have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length shall be five and the twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand. Ezekiel 48:10-13
After the Jewish religious authorities in general had rejected the Lord Jesus Christ (Jesus of Nazareth) as the promised Jewish Messiah from the Old Testament (Hebrew scriptures), Jesus pronounced a lamentation on Jerusalem and the Jews or people of Israel. Jesus said he would have gathered the Jews or children of Israel together under his leadership and protection but they weren't willing. Although I had always thought and heard this meant for Jesus just being willing to lead and protect the Jews in a general sense, while studying this passage it just came to me that the word gather is used by the Lord Jesus concerning the Jews here and that is the word that is used often of the Jews or Israelites in the Old Testament about God's final gathering of them to the land of Israel in the last days for which you can see some examples in my web page Restoration of the Jews to the Land of Israel in the Last Days. Jesus might have restored the Jews including the people of the northern 10 tribes of Israel to the land of Israel in his first ministry on earth if the Jewish leadership had predominantly received him as their Messiah. However this did not happen and instead this restoration will happen at Jesus' second coming at the end of the tribulation after which he will bring the true Messianic Kingdom. Jesus then said your house is left to you desolate. I used to think and primarily heard in messages that this meant the Jews or the house of Abraham as a clan or ethnic group. This is probably based on the reference to Jesus in the preceding verse to the children of Jerusalem. I have looked in Strong's Concordance at the Greek word for house used her and house in the sense of an ethnic group or clan is a correct meaning of the word house. However another correct sense of the word house used here is temple or house of God as it is also used in Matthew 21:13 for example. Jesus is quoting theis verse and the next verse from Psalm 118:26 where the context and meaning is clearly of the temple or house of God rather than a group of people such as the house of Israel. It would also be true that the house of God was left desolate because the Jews rejected their Messiah who could bring the divine presence into the temple and make it no longer desolate or forsaken by God or an empty shell as it didn't then even have the shekinah glory it had in the days of the tabernacle or Solomon's Temple. Jesus then says he would not see the children of Israel until they would say blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord concerning Him as he wanted them to say at that time at His first coming. This saying is also mentioned in Psalm 118:26. I believe Jesus is implying that when the children of Israel see him again at His second coming from heaven they will say blessed is he that come in the name of the Lord and Jesus will purge the temple (that will be defiled in the tribulation) that it will no longer be desolate but will have God's presence in the divine Incarnate person of Jesus the Messiah the Son of God and perhaps the shekinah glory of God the Father or the LORD in the Messianic Kingdom Temple or the one mentioned in Ezekiel 40-48, Zechariah 14 and Isaiah 2 etc. In this way I think this passage in Matthew 23 is a prophecy about the assurance Jesus gives that he will be worshipped by the children of Israel in the true Messianic Kingdom Temple that will no longer be desolate. The scripture reference in Matthew 23 of the Lord Jesus the Messiah (Christ) lamenting over Jerusalem and its people and the temple and his forseeing of the restoration to God and Himself of all these is as follows:
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Matthew 23:37-39
Forty days after Jesus rose from the dead he took his disciples to the Mount of Olives and they asked him if he would then establish God's Kingdom on Earth as they knew the Old Testament including the previously mentioned prophecy in Zechariah. He told them that they couldn't know the time of His return to set up God's Kingdom but for them to wait in Jerusalem for them to receive the Holy Ghost who would give them power to be his witnesses in Jerusalem, and other places gradually moving out from Jerusalem (Judaea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world). This was the record of the areas of the growth of the church and Christian mission in secular history and in scriptural history in the Book of Acts. When Jesus spoke these things he was taken from them and a cloud received him out of their sight. It is not mentioned whether this was a cloud of angels, natural looking clouds or a combination of the two but it was most likely a combination of the two especially since as Jesus was taken from them to heaven two angels perhaps from this cloud appeared to the disciples. The angel then said to the disciples not to keep gazing up to heaven where Jesus had been taken but to take comfort in the assurance and promise that He would come again. The angel also said when Jesus comes again in glory He will set up His Kingdom, at the end of the tribulation or times of the (70 descended from Noah as in Genesis 10 nations (Gentiles) when God restores the Kingdom to Israel. The angel also mentioned this return of Jesus will be similiar to Jesus' Ascension to heaven at the end of his 40 day post resurrection ministry on earth with his disciples. The conclusion to be drawn of this passage predicting Jesus returning from Heaven to set up God's Kingdom and the LORD returning from Heaven to set up His Kingdom also to the Mount of Olives in Zechariah is that Jesus will then come with the LORD or God the Father from Heaven to the Mount of Olives as some other scriptures make clear. Verse 12 makes it clear they were at the Mount of Olives then. The scripture reference that Jesus will restore the Kingdom of God to Israel or the Jews by coming from Heaven to the Mount of Olives in Acts 1 is as follows:
When they therefore were come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. Acts 1:6-12
Jesus as the Son of man is said to in the future come in the clouds of heaven and to be brought near to the Ancient of Days who is God the Father or the LORD. It is implied this Ancient of Days will come with Messiah Jesus from Heaven to set up the Kingdom of God at the end of the tribulation or 70th week of Daniel to start the Messianic Age. It is said of the Son of man (with the Ancient of Days) that to him will be given a kingdom, dominion and glory that will be eternal and indestructible over all people, nations and languages. These people, nations and languages will be associated with the 70 nations, languages and people groups mentioned in The Table of Nations in Genesis 10 who descended from Noah. This will be realized in the 1000 year Messianic Kingdom or Age which will be at the end briefly disrupted by the final loosing and rebellion of the Devil. This loosing of the devil will cause many people to follow him. Following this wil be the eternal Kingdom in the New Heavens, New Earth and New Jerusalem of the Ancient of Days (God the Father) and the Son of man (Jesus the Son of God and Messiah or Christ). From the other scriptures given they will return with the saints and holy angels to the Mount of Olives which is just east of Jerusalem. The scripture verse of Jesus as the Son of man coming with the LORD (the Ancient of Days and God the Father) from Heaven and be given an eternal worldwide kingdom and dominion from Daniel 7 is as follows:
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14
When Jesus Christ the Messiah and the Son of God was on trial before the high priest, the scribes, the elders and the rest of the council or Sanhedrin of 70 of the top religious leaders of Israel he was very calm and collected despite the very stressful situation of having his life on the line before a very hostile group. For some of the questions he didn't answer which infuriated the high priest and some other members of the council as they wanted to get something from Jesus' own words that could give them grounds to condemn him to death. This was even though using the testimony of the accused wasn't legal in Roman law which applied to Israel then as a colony of the Roman Empire. The high priest then asked Jesus under an oath to God to tell the truth whether he was the Christ (Messiah) the Son of God. Jesus said that was correct and then applied the prophecy of Daniel 7:13-14 to himself for the future saying the high priest would also see the Son of man. This title "Son of man" was a common title Jesus used of Himself throughout his first earthly ministry 2000 years ago and that was also used in Daniel 7:13-14 of the Messiah or Son of God when he comes from heaven to set up God's Messianic Kingdom on Earth. Jesus was thus making it completely clear to the high priest who would know the Old Testament including the Book of Daniel very well and believe it and also be familiar that Jesus commonly used that title in his day and their day on earth that Jesus was claiming to be the Messiah and Son of God. Jesus also said they would see him at the right hand of power meaning at the right hand of the power of God or of God the Father in His (Shekinah) glory or of the LORD or of the Ancient of days. Jesus also stated that he would come in the clouds of heaven (normal looking clouds and/or angels from heaven). The high priest then rent or tore his clothes which in Jewish culture was a sign of great anger, grief or amazement that Jesus would so directly state or affirm He was the Messiah and Son of God and saw this as grounds for a charge of blasphemy or of a man claiming to be God. Not only the high priest but the whole council or Sanhedrin understood what Jesus was saying and claiming and also thought he was guilty of blasphemy. Under Jewish law or the Law of Moses blasphemy carried a penalty of death. They then showed some of their anger and contempt for him and his claim or affirmation that he was the Christ (Messiah) the Son of God and that He would in the future come from Heaven at God's right hand to set up God's Kingdom by striking him and mocking him. They also asked him to tell them who struck him and to prophesy to them. The scripture reference in Gospel of Matthew 26 of the high priest and the council (Sanhedrin) trying Jesus on what they thought were His unjustified claims to be the Jewish Messiah or Christ and their anger and contempt at him is in the following paragraph. Also their determination to use his words to put Jesus to death when he affirmed his claims to be the Messiah and Son of God who would come from Heaven to set up God's Kingdom on Earth at God's right hand when the high priest asked him this is as follows:
But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ (Messiah), the Son of God. Jesus said unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need we of witnesses? What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted(struck or punched) him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ(Messiah), Who is he that smote thee? Gospel of Matthew 26:63-68
In the last 5 verses of the last chapter, chapter 9, of the prophetical book of Amos in the Old Testament or Hebrew Scriptures there are some verses focused on the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom of God through His Son Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ with the Shekinah glory of God the Father will set up His Kingdom over all the earth focused on Jerusalem and Israel with the second coming in glory from heaven with His true Church and departed saints of Old Israel or believers of the Gentiles who have passed from this world by then from the Old Testament times or from the then immediately prior 7 year tribulation or 70th week of Daniel. There is reference to the building of the Messianic or Millennial Kingdom temple in places like Zechariah 6:9-15 and Ezekiel 40-42 in God's word the Holy Bible. However one thing I was confused or uncertain about before was where there is specific reference in God's word the Holy Bible of the destruction of the tribulation Temple that the Antichrist or Beast out of the Sea will allow Israel to build in the tribulation or 70th week of Daniel according to Daniel 9:27 and Revelation 11:1-2. The Antichrist will take over this temple half way through the 7 year tribulation for forced worship of himself by the people of the world in the second half of the tribulation as in Matthew 24:15, the latter part of Daniel 9:27, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, Daniel 12:11. This will defile that temple and make it unfit for it to be the dwelling and ruling place and pilgrimage place for worship of Messiah the Lord Jesus (Y'Shua) and God the Father (the LORD or HaShem) in the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom.
One thing that is confusing is that in Ezekiel 43 the LORD mentions through Ezekiel that soon after Messiah Jesus (Y'Shua) comes again to set up His Kingdom at the end of the tribulation which will be first at the Mount of Olives (as in Zechariah 14 and Acts 1) and also called from the way to the east (of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem) Ezekiel 43:2, 4 the glory of the LORD comes from the way of the east (from the direction of the Mount of Olives) into the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple. However it will probably take some time to build the Messianic Kingdom Temple after Jesus or Y'Shua' second coming because it will be built by both the Messiah and the saved of the nations according to Zechariah 6:9-15. When this Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple is built then the Lord Jesus Christ and the Shekinah glory of God the Father will come from the direction of the Mount of Olives (the way of the east) into the east gate and then into the most holy place (the holy of holies) of the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple. Ezekiel 43:1-5, Ezekiel 41:4, 44:13-16 mention that the most holy place in this temple will be the dwelling place of the LORD in the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple. The time and reference to the preceding destruction of the tribulation temple as by the earthquake at the second coming to earth of the Lord Jesus Christ (Y'Shua HaMashiach) and the Shekinah glory of God the Father will probably be what destroys the tribulation temple since the Temple Mount and the then tribulation temple on top of it and Jerusalem are very close to the Mount of Olives. I think part of the reference to the tabernacle of David that is fallen is to the tribulation temple. Even though the tribulation temple will be authorized to be built by the Antichrist or man of sin or he that causes abomination and will be the place where he seeks the worship of the world in the second half of the tribulation it is still called the temple of God in God's word the Holy Bible as in 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and Revelation 11:1. However the reference in Revelation 11 is to that temple in the 1st half of the tribulation when it will be used by the Jews or Israelites for some time for restored Levitical worship as in the Law of Moses including the book of Leviticus. However the tabernacle of David that is fallen in Amos 9 and Acts 15 is also a reference to the temple and the Levitical worship having been forced to close in its fulness is also a reference to the destruction of the first or Solomon's Temple by the Babylonians and the second or Zerubabbel's and Herod's temple by the Romans and that will only be partly regained even in the third temple when it is used by the Israelites to worship the true God the LORD or HaShem or the divine trinity Elohim in this case focusing on God the Father in the 1st half of the tribulation. This tabernacle of David will be restored with the building of the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple as mentioned in Zechariah 6:9-15 and Ezekiel 40-42. The reference in Acts 15 where this verse from Amos is quoted I believe is also to the building of the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on the site of the then just destroyed tribulation temple. The reference in Acts 15 of God first visiting the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name is a reference for the whole Church Age from Pentecost to the very soon coming rapture to heaven of all the true Church (called out people or assembly) that is composed mostly of Gentiles. The reference in Acts 15:17 to the residue of men is a reference to the Jews or Israelites who trust in the true God in the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom and all the Gentiles is a reference to the people of the Gentiles or nations (the 70 nations descended from Noah and his three sons and their wives in The Genesis 10 Table of Nations) that trust in the true God in the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom. The reference in Amos 9 (and Acts 15) of the tabernacle of David that is fallen to be restored as the ruined tribulation temple and former Jewish or Israelite temples on the Temple Mount being restored with the building of the Messianic or Millennial Kingdom Temple as mentioned in scriptures such as Zechariah 6 and Ezekiel 40-42 is as follows:
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle od David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: Amos 9:11
And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearkening unto me: Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Acts 15:13-17
An angel brought the prophet to the gate that looks toward the east which is commonly called "The East Gate" or sometimes "The Golden Gate" or "The Shushan Gate". These names for this gate are because it faced east and was considered to be the gate through which the Messiah would come from the Mount of Olives to the east of Jerusalem to take up His throne in the Temple to rule Israel and the world in the Messianic Age. The glory of the God of Israel that is of the LORD or of God the Father was described as coming from the east which would be from the Mount of Olives. This is where the LORD would land when He came with His Messiah from Heaven to set up His Kingdom on earth at the beginning of the Messianic Age after the end of the tribulation or 70th Week of Daniel. God will come in glory then not just visually but also audibly as this scripture passage also says that God will give a glorious and imposing voice like the sound of many waters (like the roaring of the waves). Ezekiel was very humbled and had a fear of God as they were similiar to earlier visions he had of the LORD (God). The glory of the LORD (the glory of God the Father) came into the house (of God) or the Temple in the Messianic Age through the east gate and filled the house or temple with His glory. This will likely be the LORD's (God the Father's) dwelling place on Earth and manner of presenting Himself throughout the 1000 year Messianic Age. This Millennial Temple will also likely be the dwelling place of His Son and Messiah or Christ Jesus who as in previously mentioned scriptures will come with the LORD (God the Father) from Heaven to the Mount of Olives and also continue with Him to the Temple to dwell there with Him. From this temple in Jerusalem Jesus with the Shekinah glory of God the Father will rule Israel and the world and receive worship from the Jews and the nations from there in the Messianic Age. The scripture reference from Ezekiel 43 of glory of the LORD (God the Father) and understood accompanied by His Son and Messiah or Christ Jesus from the Mount of Olives on the East through the East Gate into the Temple to dwell, rule and receive worship from Israel and the nations in the Messianic Age is as follows:
Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east: And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like the noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the appearance of the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar (in Babylon or modern day Iraq); and I fell upon my face. And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house. Ezekiel 43:1-5
In Isaiah 4:5 and some of the surrounding verses there is a reference to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father to judge the world and set up God's Kingdom on earth through Israel and the Jews with the true Church. The glory of God the Father will come with the Lord Jesus and will then rest above the buildings of the temple and of Jerusalem in the Messianic or Millennial Kingdom (every dwelling place of mount Zion would refer to the dwelling places of Jews in the temple complex while the assemblies would refer to assemblies during the feasts etc of the Jews at the Temple) with Mount Zion being the Temple Mount. This glory is called a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. This will be similiar to the skekinah glory of God the Father or the LORD that led the Israelites through the wilderness from Egypt to the promised land. The shekinah glory of God the Father will be above the millennial temple at Jerusalem and their assemblies or gatherings of people in the Temple while the incarnate presence of God in God the Son and the Son of God Jesus Christ the Lord and SAviour of the world and Messiah of Israel will be focused in the holy of holies in the Millennial Temple. This will be an awesome witness of the glory of God throughout the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom age especially in Jerusalem. The scripture reference from Isaiah 4 of God's glory dwelling above the Millennial or Messianic Kingdom Temple is as follows:
And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. Isaiah 4:5
This Psalm which is about the Messianic Kingdom starts by saying that the Earth is the LORD's and the fulness of it or everything in it. Although some might say otherwise I think it is quite clear that with all the sin and unbelief as well as people or demons using the substance or other life of this world in an ungodly manner in many cases that this Psalm doesn't apply to the present time and hasn't applied fully to this world in any time so far so it must be yet future. This is made even more clear when God goes on to say in this Psalm that also at the time referred to the world and they that dwell therein will be his in the time described. This is certainly and certainly hasn't been the case before except the brief time in the Garden of Eden before Adam and Eve sinned against God. The time from other scriptures and made clear from later in this Psalm that is being referred to is that it is the time when God the Father (the LORD) and His Son and Messiah (Christ) Jesus will be visibly dwelling on and ruling this world and receiving worship of Israel and the nations. This period is commonly called the Messianic Age and will start with the LORD and Messiah Jesus coming in power and great glory from Heaven to set up His Kingdom over all the Earth from Jerusalem. God will also establish His Kingdom upon the seas and upon the floods (rivers) to some extent over all the world and especially between the Great or Western Sea (the Mediterranean Sea) and the Eastern Sea (the Dead Sea or Persian Gulf) and the Euphrates River. The scripture reference from Psalm 24 of God's worldwide rule in the Messianic Age is as follows:
The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods (rivers). Psalm 24:1-2
It is mentioned again here that people will ascend physically and spiritually when they come to God's hill of Mount Zion and to stand in His holy place or Temple in the Messianic Age. It is mentioned that people are expected to have lived in a way with pure heart or will and worship, their soul or emotions, their hands or actions and in their mouth or words. In these ways people can be prepared to come before the LORD and His glory and His Messiah Jesus in the Temple to worship Him in the Messianic Age. Then the LORD will give His blessing and righteousness to those who rightly prepare themselves to come into His presence and worship Him in an honourable way in His Holy Place or Temple on Mount Zion or the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in the Messianic Age. This will also be associated with seeking God's face which will be not only possible in a spiritual sense with the LORD or God the Father's glory there but literally with Messiah Jesus there bodily in the Temple as God in the flesh. The scripture reference of appropriate preparation and God's blessing for those who prepare themselves to come before Him and worship Him in His Temple in the Messianic Age from Psalm 24 is as follows:
Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. Psalm 24:3-6
Although many doors and gates are mentioned here the gates and doors probably especially in mind here is the East Gate and doors through which the LORD in His glory and Messiah Jesus will enter into the Temple when He comes from the Mount of Olives. This will be after He wins the battle against the nations that come against Jerusalem and the Jews at the Battle of Armageddon. The LORD is described as the King of glory here probably also referring to His coming in glory from Heaven. The LORD is also described as mighty in battle probably referring to His gaining the victory in the Battle of Armageddon through God the Father and Jesus as in Zechariah 14 and Revelation 19 fighting against and overcoming the armies of the nations. These ungodly armies will be led by the Antichrist and False Prophet that will come against Jerusalem and the Jews at the end of the tribulation or 70th week of Daniel. This victory over the nations and God coming into His new Temple will begin the 1000 year Messianic Age. Lastly the King of glory is also called the LORD of hosts which means the LORD of warrior hosts which probably also refers to His angels and saints coming with Him from Heaven to set up His Kingdom. The scripture reference from Psalm 24 describing the LORD coming into and starting to dwell in His Temple at the beginning of the Messianic Kingdom after winning a major battle against the ungodly nations and putting them out of this Earth to establish His Kingdom is as follows:
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. Psalm 24:7-10
In this great prophecy of Daniel there were 70 weeks of 7 years each that God revealed to Daniel would remain in the times of Gentile or non- Jewish rule while he was still working through Israel. The elapsing of this time has been suspended between the end of 69th week and the beginning of the 70th week until the Great Commission and the Church and Church Age or Dispensation is complete in the near future. The 70 weeks started in 454 BC with the decree of the Persian King Artaxerxes to rebuilt Jerusalem and the first 69 weeks ended with the so-called triumphal entry of the Lord Jesus Christ (Messiah) on 30 AD about a week before Passover that year. The Lord Jesus Christ(Messiah) in his death on the cross for our sins immediately after the end of the 69 weeks as Messiah being cut off but not for Himself fulfilled the first 3 goals of the 70 weeks. These goals were to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity. In the second coming of the Messiah (Christ) Jesus he will fulfill the other 3 goals of this prophecy, that is to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and the prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy (place). Messiah (Christ) Jesus will do this by the LORD (God the Father) establishing God's righteousness Kingdom and rule over all the earth when He comes from heaven to put away all ungodly people and establish His righteous rule. This righteous rule will be centred on God's house or temple in Jerusalem and anointing it with His presence or other ways when He comes to dwell in the Temple of God and at least the LORD (God the Father) in the Most Holy Place in the Messianic Age. God will also fulfill the vision and the prophecy by fulfilling the remaining part about the consummation. He will do this by his putting away the Antichrist or Beast out of the Sea at the LORD (God the Father's) and Jesus' Second Coming in power and glory at the end of the 70 weeks of Daniel or tribulation. The scripture reference in Daniel 9 of the 70 weeks of Daniel about Israel under Gentile or non-Jewish rule from the decree of the Persian king Artaxerxes to allow the Jews to rebuild Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple in 445 BC until the end of the reign of the Antichrist at the end of the soon 7 year tribulation with the Church Dispensation in between is as follows:
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy (place). Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:24-27
This prophecy starts out with saying unto us (the Jewish people and to some extent the world) a child is born. This was fulfilled when Messiah (Christ) Jesus was born of a virgin in Bethlehem about 2000 years ago. Then this scripture says unto us a son is given. This was fulfilled when Jesus died and was given for the Jewish people and their sins as well as for the whole world on the cross of Calvary in about 32 AD. Then it says speaking of the same person for the future that the government shall be upon his shoulder. This did not happen at Jesus first coming even though some of the Jews wanted to make him their king then but he refused even saying to Pontius Pilate in the Gospel of John "now is my kingdom not from here or else would my servants fight". The government of God will be upon Jesus' shoulders when He comes in glory from Heaven to Jerusalem with the LORD (the Father). With Jesus will come the saints and holy angels at the end of the tribulation or 70th week of Daniel to set up His Messianic Kingdom. It will be at that time that Jesus will more fully realize these other titles of His such as Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace. Jesus will at that time come at His Second Coming in glory. Jesus will at His Second Coming set up God's Kingdom or government and peace on the throne of David, and as with David will then be ruling Jerusalem, Israel and the world from the Messianic Age Temple or House of the LORD on Mount Zion or the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Jesus God the Son and Messiah has great determination to fulfill also these prophecies about his second coming and will accomplish them with justice and judgment or righteousness and justice. This coming will be to the condemnation of persistant sinners or unbelievers and to the joy and relief or believers and the righteous or saved people or angels and God of course. The scripture reference from Isaiah 9 of this scripture that makes it more clear that Jesus will be ruling in the Messianic Age which will be from the Messianic Age Temple or House of the LORD is as follows:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6-7
God gave Isaiah a vision of Jerusalem and Judah or Israel in the last days. In this last days vision which is for the Messianic Age the mountain of the LORD's house or Mount Zion or the Temple Mount will be established in the top or the highest of the mountains. This will be partly because God will probably lift up Mount Zion or the Temple Mount and partly as has already been noted in Revelation 16 and Isaiah 40 God will bring down the other high mountains of the earth. This will occur at the beginning of the Messianic Age when He comes from Heaven to set up His earthly kingdom. Many people of Israel and the (70 Genesis 10 Table of Nations (Noahide)) nations or Gentiles then in the Messianic Age will seek or desire to come before God (the LORD - God the Father) and Messiah (Christ) Jesus to hear his law (that will be based on the law of Moses but will have some changes even with the temple itself such as it will have Messiah in the holy of holies instead of the ark of the covenant and their will be no veil) and word and for him to teach them his ways and paths. Although the LORD and His glory will then be in the Temple in Jerusalem, it will probably be His Son Messiah Jesus or the Prince - King David (Ezekiel 37:25) or some of the Temple priests who will teach the people of Israel and the Noahide nations God's ways and paths. This will occur when the nations come up to His house or temple on the Temple Mount or Mount Zion or the mountain of the LORD's house in Jerusalem. God will from the beginning of the Messianic Age judge the nations, and rebuke many people including for their violent or selfish ways and will compel them to destroy their weapons of war and turn them into instruments for more peaceful agriculture or perhaps other peaceful uses. God (the LORD and Messiah Jesus) will also convince the nations not to learn war anymore and not to have nation rise up against nations anymore. This will perhaps also be by the continual witness then of His Holy Spirit as well as His control over all the government and institutions in the world in the Messianic Age. Israel, the house of Jacob, is also urged to walk in the light of the LORD seeing that in the future the LORD will also persuade the nations to walk in His light or word and law in the Messianic Age. The scripture reference from Isaiah 2 of the LORD (God the Father) and Messiah (Christ) Jesus dwelling in and teaching the nations and Israel and ruling Israel and the nations from His house or temple on the Temple Mount or mountain of the LORD's house or Mount Zion in Jerusalem in the Messianic Age is as follows:
The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob; and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. Isaiah 2:1-5
When the Lord Jesus Christ returns in His glorious second coming to establish His and God the Father's Kingdom and judge the world he will then establish justice in the earth, over all the earth not just Israel. The nations or Gentiles, the 70 nations descended from Noah and his sons and wives as in The Genesis 10 Table of Nations) not just Israel, will wait for the decrees or applications of God's law from Messiah Jesus in the Messianic or Millennial Kingdom Temple where the Lord Jesus Christ (Y'Shua HaMashiach) will rule the world from His throne in the holy or holies or most holy place in the Messianic Kingdom or Ezekiel's Temple. Although I believe this present age from Pentecost to the rapture of the Church is the Church Age or Age of the Holy Spirit or Age of Grace and the Law of Moses does not apply for God's heavenly or spiritual people the Church in this age but instead the New Testament and the leading of believers by the Holy Spirit but I do believe that after the rapture of the Church God will resume His focus in dealing with His chosen earthly people Israel and bringing them back to Himself including getting them to trust in His Messiah and Son Jesus of Nazareth and then His law the Law of Moses will then again apply on Earth as well as in the Messianic Kingdom. The scripture reference from Isaiah 42 of God 's law coming from Messiah Jesus in the Millenial or Messianic Kingdom from the Messianic Temple to the (70 Genesis from Noah Table of Nations) nations or Gentiles is as follows:
He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait his law. Isaiah 42:4
